Davide Giugliano targets the front at Nurburgring

Davide Giugliano (Althea Racing Aprilia) is setting his sights on the German Round of the eni FIM Superbike Championship, that will take place this weekend at the Nurburgring. The young Italian had a difficult time at Silverstone three weeks ago, after crashing out and hurting his right foot during the Saturday's Tissot-Superpole.

The race day in UK was a very tough one, too, as Giugliano had to withdraw from the first race due to technical problems and couldn't find the pace in the next one, finishing sixteenth. As the summer break is over, the former FIM Superstock 1000 Cup Champion is looking forward to redeem himself at the Eifel venue and he's ready to give his team some strong results.

"I've taken advantage of the long summer break" said Davide Giugliano "to rest and continue with my training in preparation for the final five rounds of the World Championship. The German Round will be an important one because it comes on the back of Silverstone, where we were unlucky and didn't manage to get the results that we were expecting. I like the Nurburgring, even though I've done not so well last year, but I had the perfect weekend in 2011 in STK1000, as I took the pole position and won the race, also recording the fastest lap on the way. I'd like to do something similar this year and, with the help of my team, I'll be giving it my all to obtain the best results."
